atik Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Hi, we're considering a tablet-based ordering system for our mid-scale restaurant. We want to provide guests with a user-friendly interface that showcases attractive images of our dishes, combos, specials, and promotions. The idea is for guests to place their orders directly through the tablet at their table, which would then automatically print the order tickets in the kitchen for food and at the bar for drinks. Is this something your solution can support?
abi_28 Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Nice case, Atik! I've implemented a similar setup in my restaurant, and it works great. We've customized the tablet screens with high-quality images of our dishes, allowing guests to browse, select, and add items to their order. Once they finalize their selection, the order is automatically printed in the kitchen for food and at the bar for drinks. We've also named each tablet according to the table numbers using the Loyverse open tickets function, which has helped keep things organized. It's important to subscribe to the Employee Management addon so you can control who can access certain features, like processing sales or editing the menu.
Solution Maria_12 Posted September 23, 2024 Solution Posted September 23, 2024 I agree with Abi. I just want to share what I set up my POS with the same situation. 1. You need to add an employee but for the guests. In this role, I ensure that the POS section is enabled and the appropriate access rights are enabled to manage all open tickets. This setup allows you to add orders to a specific table and handle additional requests later, such as adding an extra burger or drink to the same table. It really helps streamline the process for your guests. On the POS app, you need to use the ‘guest’ pin code to apply the access rights. https://help.loyverse.com/help/employee-loyverses 2. Next, create tables using the Predefined Open Tickets function, and ensure that the Open Tickets feature is enabled under the Features section. https://help.loyverse.com/help/how-use-predefined-open-tickets 3. Set up a new POS and activate it; this will be used on the device that customers will interact with. https://help.loyverse.com/help/how-create-activate-and-delete-pos 4. When the customer arrives, they can unlock the tablet with their PIN code, access the sales screen, and start adding items to their ticket. They add this order to the table where they are sitting. 5. Please set up the kitchen and bar printers so that items are sent to the respective printers accordingly. https://help.loyverse.com/help/using-kitchen-printers Since the new POS is set up for the same store, the order will also be synced on your POS device. When the customers finish their meal, you can charge the ticket and print the receipt directly from your device. 1
Hanna Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 This is a good case! Thank you for sharing your own methods! However, please note that this is only a workaround, and its effectiveness can vary based on individual business circumstances. Some users have successfully managed similar requirements using this approach, but its success is not guaranteed. You may explore this option, but please be aware that results can differ. Also, please note that adding an employee is included in our paid add-ons. To check the add-on’s pricing, please check this link provided: https://loyverse.com/pricing
CafefamiliarAmaru Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Hello everybody! I have been checking out the integrations for QR menus and self-ordering. Otter is too expensive for us, so I did not try it. Menutiger would be great and also affordable, but the problem is, that customers have to click on pay and select a payment method everytime they want to order something. This is confusing and will prevent them from ordering. Customers at a table want to order and pay upon leaving. I am not sure if Loyverse can handle open orders from other solutions, the support from Orderinla told me that Loyverse does not support open receipts. I also tried Instalacarte but they do not provide this feature. The free version of Instalacarte did not work at all for customer display because of server problems (due to their support). I did not try Feedus because they do not show any pricing information, and it seems they do not support QR self ordering. I have not tried MyMenu yet because it is a little expensive for us. As our café is in Bolivia with meals between 1 to 3 USD, unfortunately we cannot afford expensive solutions like Otter... Maybe I give MyMenu a shot. If you have any experience or recomendations, please let me know. The above presented solution in Loyverse seems interesting, but I see a problem, when people have to select their table themselves.
