Gift Cards donated to a charity

How would you redeem a gift card that you have donated to a charity ?

There would be no cash sale but we would need to redeem the £ and still be able to account for them as a charitable donation for tax return / end of year 

 

Any help would be apreciated

Please check if this will work for you:

You can create an item "GIFT CARD" with a specific amount on it (PRICE).
And, please create the payment type "GIFT CARD FOR CHARITY".
Add an item "GIFT CARD" to the ticket, assign a ticket to the customer.
Then, charge a ticket by using the payment type "GIFT CARD FOR CHARITY".

It will be recorded in the customer's purchase history as all other transactions, but in the SALES BY PAYMENT TYPE report you can check the amount of all the gift cards donated for charity within a specific period.
