Printed saved ticket receipt doesn't show Total at it's bottom, nor date and other info. Also, it seems to make the printer crash, as then I can't get the printer to do a line feed, unless I turn it off, then back on again.

Hi! Could you please clarify, what is the model of your printer?

Looks like the cutter cut the receipt in wrong place. You can to add additional space for cutter. You try next:

Go to the App → Settings → choose your printer, then open Advanced Settings → and in the field 'Cutter ESC/POS Commands', add 0A, 0A before existing values. 
For example: 

you need to write 0А,0А,1D,56,42,00
