Is it possible to connect a USB Printer to my iPad/tablet POS going through a PC/laptop?

I as thinking of connecting the iPad/tablet I'm using as POS to a PC/laptop, then connect the printer and barcode scanner to the same laptop. Would it be possible to link the hardware and POS this way?
