PieterH
We accept two payment methods; Cash and Card. When someone had payed with card, and returns something, we mostly give money back in cash. However, in Loyverse this return is calculated based on Card. For example the cash-drawer wont open and in the end of the day this results in a cash mismatch. Also the statistics don't match. We would like to choose how the return is refunded, Cash or Card. Solution Mag Posted October 2, 2019 Solution Share Posted October 2, 2019 Hello! Loyverse only allows refunds with the same type of payment that sale was made.

That would be quite hard to explain to a customer. "No, you cannot return this item, because you paid with a card, sorry."

Some users in such situations make refund of whole receipt and then make sale of rest receipts. What payment processing do you use in your business? Loyverse plans to add option for partial refund for Sumup

We use a thirdparty PIN-terminal from our Bank which doesn't allow refunds (yet).
Frederic
Hi, Same issue here. Customers paying with card. Refund only possible with card on Loyverse, but we cannot refund with card, only cash. Quite annoying, cause we have to recalculate this errors is our accounting software. Would be indeed great if for a refund we can select the type of payment of the refund. PS: in case of a split payment (ex. 50 card and 100 cash) loyverse already show the split on refund and allows us to change the numbers, but does not accept it. Thanks a lot ! Shinjin
Hello, At the moment it is not possible to select which payment type to refund the sale with, but we record every feedback we receive which our team takes fully into consideration when planning improvements for Loyverse POS. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
Roger
Hello Loyverse Team, Not being able to choose between cash or bank card when refunding is a key point for whether or not to continue working with Loyverse. It is a wonderful programme, but this can create very annoying situations. There can be several reasons why someone may prefer to receive the refund differently from how they paid. An example might be that someone has paid with a debit card that is no longer in use or someone has paid for them (such as an ex-boyfriend or girlfriend or a family member with whom contact is no longer very good). In this case, the money is transferred to the wrong person. In addition, someone may need the money immediately and therefore choose cash instead of a refund via debit card as this usually takes 2 to 3 days for the customer to get the money back in their bank account. These are just a few examples. Therefore, in my view, it seems like a minor tweak to the system that would then save bussiness owners an incredible amount of unnecessary issues.
