Why doesn't the cash drawer open after a card sale?

Hi to the comunity.

Every time I make a card sale, the cash draw doesn't open and I have to open it manualy.

Is there a way of setting card sales to open the draw, after selecting card as the mode of perchase? Just as it does with cash sales?

Any help would be much apreciated.

Just curious on why do you need to open the cash drawer after a card sale?

Hello Azprod.

We put the merchant copies of the card receipt under the coin tray for safe keeping.

maybe you can find some cash drawers with a cheque slot on the front panel, so that you don't need to open the drawer.

I have just noticed that when a customer pays with points previously earned, therefore no cash used, the cash draw will open after the completion of the sale. I think it would be more useful if the draw opened for card receipts and not for points usage.

Can I add a +1 to the implied feature request in this thread please: a settings option to allow us to determine that the cash drawer should open on card payment.

We also store merchant receipts in the cash drawer of the mPOP that we have just bought because it is compatible with Loyverse. We don't want to replace the till with a different model, but we do want to be able to put the merchant receipts in the cash drawer. Manually opening the cash drawer each time seems the wrong way to deal with this. I understand that sites using SumUp or other electronic-only card processing devices don't want the drawer opening each time, but this seems like such a clear case for a settings option, so each user can set whether or not the cash drawer should open in their site. Thanks.

It's a very old school way to deal with card transactions. These days you can view every transaction that went through on your merchant dashboard online. So why do you want to keep every receipt? I guess you only look through them if there is a problem but if you just log into your merchant dashboard, everything is there. And it saves a lot of fumbling through receipts which may not be in chronological order like they are online.
