How to beat the competition?

To remain competitive differentiation is important, hence the need for branding. The best response to competition is to define your brand and express it all the ways you can. There must be something about your business that will make the customers choose you over the rest of the competition. This is your Unique Selling Proposition (USP). It could be your product itself, something unique they can’t find elsewhere, or the overall experience your customers get from your business.

You can focus in three different areas to create a competitive advantage in your business: Quality, Price, and Service. However, customer service is on top oof the others; people might not remember how much they payed for your product but a good or bad customer experienced is never forgotten.

Innovation. A business that is in constant innovation and improvement is a business that cares for his customer base and want to always offer them the best. It’s a good way in creating trust and loyalty among customers and stick out over your competition.

Focus in your branding and marketing. Make more efforts to tell the people who you are, what you sell and why they should buy from you. Local marketing can be very effective, and it starts from your own shop or restaurant. Posters in the window, your logo and leaflets, etc.

Try to find your uniqueness and advantages and be little unusual compared to other players and continue to innovate your unique model. And while your competitors will copy your current style, you will be working on your new advantages and will be always staying one step ahead of them.
