HADCO Posted yesterday at 06:59 PM Posted yesterday at 06:59 PM Hello Loyverse Support Team, I’m currently setting up composite items for beverage costing and want to confirm that I’m using the feature correctly. I’ve reviewed your documentation here: https://help.loyverse.com/help/how-create-composite-item Based on the guide, my understanding is: Composite items are intended to deduct ingredient inventory (e.g., liquor, mixers, garnishes) when a finished item is sold. The cost of the composite item is derived from the costs of its component items. Composite items themselves are not meant to represent multiple yield-based servings from a single bottle unless each serving is defined as its own inventory item. Where I may be misunderstanding things is around drink costing and bottle yields. Specifically: If I have a 750ml bottle of liquor, am I expected to: Create an inventory item that represents a single pour/serving (e.g., 45ml), and Build the composite drink from those serving-sized items? Is there any built-in way for Loyverse to understand yields (e.g., 16–17 servings per bottle), or is the recommended approach always to convert everything to the smallest unit (per-serving inventory items)? Are composite items intended mainly for inventory deduction accuracy, rather than detailed beverage cost analysis? The current setup works mechanically, but I want to be sure I’m following best practice and not overcomplicating the structure due to a misunderstanding on my part. Any confirmation or guidance—especially around recommended setups for bars or beverage operations—would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.
