Promo items in Cafe with using of Modifier

Recommended Posts

I’m running a summer promo at my café that includes combo items like milk tea drinks paired with fries. We want to customize the sizes so that, for example, if a customer orders a large drink, they also get large fries — each with different cost. I’ve tried using variants and modifiers, but variants don’t let me add the fries, and modifiers don’t track inventory properly. Does anyone have advice on how to handle this setup?

I suggest using the composite feature in this case, as it allows you to link the stocks of both drinks and fries. However, since each size has a different cost, you may need to set up separate items for each size. To keep things organized and ensure smooth transactions for your staff, I recommend categorizing these items properly so they don’t clutter your item list.

Thank you! That sounds interesting… I haven’t really used Loyverse’s composite feature yet. Do you have any tips on how to use it effectively? Also, for the drink and fries flavors, should I use modifiers for those options?

Let me share how to effectively use the composite feature for your summer promo.

First, create individual items for the different drink and fries sizes, each with their respective costs and stock. Once those are set up, you can combine them as components to create a composite item, like ‘Promo A’.

In this screenshot, you can see that I added each item individually, assigning its own cost and stock for each size. I repeated this process for all drink and fries sizes, ensuring each has the correct costing and stock levels.38(1).thumb.jpg.01e63df5b30eed824d51e358bd152124.jpg

After creating all the individual items, you can now add them as components of ‘Promo A’. Once the components are added, the total cost of ‘Promo A’ will be automatically calculated based on the pricing of each individual item. Additionally, each time the promo is sold through the app, the stock of each component will be deducted accordingly.

For the drink flavors and sizes, you can add them as modifiers. With modifiers, you can customize the pricing for each flavor and also add extra items like an additional scoop of boba or cheesecake.
