HydeUnited Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Before I begin, yes I know I can create discount amounts and apply that to any sale, however we have a members system in our bar and I want to use the loyalty customer base to identify those members via their QR code. We are a football club that have season ticket holders who by default are members, and also people can pay an annual fee to become a member if they aren't a season ticket holder. Season ticket holders and members all have a unique QR code either produced in our season ticket app, or printed from an email they get when they sign up. They all get 20% discount on any purchase at our bar, to get this they have to show their QR code. But that is open to abuse, someone could print any QR code to a sheet of paper and show that, and bar staff won't know if its a valid season ticket or members QR code. But I'm able to export the list of season ticket holders and mebers details, including the QR code string and import into Loyverse customer base, so now we have a list of valid members and their QR codes. The idea is to use a bar code scanner to scan their QR code and if its valid, apply the 20% discount to their purchase, rather than issue loyalty points. So, my question is. Is it possible to apply the loyalty discount to the current sale, rather than bank them to be used at a later sale?

Hello Unfortunately, it is not possible to automatically apply a 20% discount to the customers whose QR you scanned. Ok, we can go with a loyalty scheme instead, so a member can gain loyalty points to redeem. I do have an issue though with the QR codes, in that our season ticket holders and members QR codes are 43 characters long, and there is nothing we can do about this as the tickets are handled by a third party company. And that exceeds the 40 characters the customer code box accepts. Is there any way to extend this restriction?
