The End of a Nightmare: With Loyverse and Its Sales History, I Regained Peace of Mind

An easy-to-use system and a reliable sales history have transformed the way a business with 35 years of history is managed.

To begin, could you tell us the name of your business? What type of business is it? How long ago did you start?

My business is called Todo en Danza. We’ve been in the market for 35 years, and we sell dance products: clothing, accessories, and shoes. We’re located in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico, and we’ve been using Loyverse for 11 months.

I understand your business has a long history. How have you managed sales over the years?

We’ve been using a point-of-sale system for 20 years. We had exactly 10 stores, but sadly, the pandemic forced us to close, and right now we only have three left. We used Microsip, which worked here in Mérida. It was installed for us, and it was what we used. Then we migrated to another system, which was the biggest nightmare in the universe. While looking for a way out of that nightmare, I found Loyverse, and honestly, I’m extremely happy. It’s easy, it’s fast, and I haven’t had any trouble with my employees handling the cash register closings- nothing at all. Everything has been extremely easy.

I’m so glad to hear that. It’s also important to pinpoint the main difficulty you had with the other system. What made you decide to switch?

We had a lot of trouble finding our sales data. The sales team had to spend hours transferring information from the program to Excel just to find out what had been sold, how it had been sold, sales times, and so on. That doesn’t happen to us with Loyverse. It’s simple. The sales history is outstanding and very easy to use. We would contact the other company and never get answers. It seemed that my account representative didn’t know how to use the system either. It’s a very well-known system, and she didn’t know how to operate it. All she knew was how to charge us or offer us deals, but she never gave us answers. My sales team suffered terribly during that time.

That part is important because Loyverse offers 24-hour support. Have you received assistance from our team?

Yes. I needed it once, and the response was immediate. That’s what won me over, and it was the right answer. Since I hadn’t replied to say whether it was resolved, they kept following up until they knew it was fixed. I loved that. I felt like they cared about me. I’m very happy with Loyverse. It’s fast, it’s not expensive, and they don’t sell me things I don’t need.

Comparing your business before and after Loyverse, which tool has had the greatest impact on your business during this time?

The unlimited sales history, because I’ve been able to manage all of my information in one place. I didn’t just need a point-of-sale service; I also needed to manage warehouses and sales history so I could handle purchasing, and so on.

After upgrading from the free version to the paid version, would you say the change was worth it?

Absolutely. Honestly, I’ve received excellent service. The system hasn’t given me any problems, and it’s been easy for any employee, at any level, to understand. I use all the subscriptions and have no complaints.

Is there a Loyverse tool or feature that you find most useful on a day-to-day basis?

Day to day, I definitely use all of them. Just five minutes ago, I was doing purchasing, and we reviewed the purchase orders against everything we had in inventory. Every day I use the cash register closing: my employees send me the report, and I can see in the Back Office what was sold, when it was sold, who sold it, and how it was sold. Honestly, I can’t say there’s a tool I don’t use on any given day, because I use them all.

Regarding the reports and inventory features you check constantly, have you used them to make business decisions?

Yes. Today, for example, we pulled together all the information we needed for our end-of-school-year purchasing. We reviewed the inventory count and placed the purchase orders.

You already have a very well-established business. What advice would you give to those just starting out as entrepreneurs?

You lose a lot of time doing everything in different places. It’s better to manage everything in one system, especially one that’s as easy and affordable as Loyverse, which adapts to your needs. As an entrepreneur, you’re always looking for ways to save money, but you have to know how to save it so that it becomes an investment. Honestly, it’s one of the best options I know of on the market for running your business and achieving solid growth without an exorbitant cost.

Throughout your time in business, have you faced any difficult moments? Do you remember a particularly hard time, and was there a thought or idea that helped you overcome it?

Yes, we have had tough times. The pandemic was a very difficult period because I lost many of my stores, and we’re starting over. Six years later, I’m still trying to recover and restructure everything. All I can say is: persevere, and don’t let yourself fall. It’s better to downsize and start over than to stubbornly stay stuck and fail to move forward. You lose much more that way.

Thank you, that’s very good advice. To close, would you recommend Loyverse to similar businesses?

I truly recommend all of it. I’m in love with the system. The one I use the most is the point of sale. It’s used every day, at all hours, and after that come my inventory control and my sales history. If you don’t know your sales history, you can make very bad decisions, and that’s a great tool for keeping a good record.
