At some events we have a requirement to record customer ID, data entry is slow,so how can I take a photo of the id and introduce it into the customer field

Some driver licenses have barcodes on the back of them, you might be able to scan that but it would not save a copy of the ID. You could link a simple app via Zapier, Make, Pabbly, Zoho to capture the ID via a common customer code and sync it on a google spreadsheet.
