GoodOldMonkey Posted February 26 Posted February 26 I am still new to Loyverse, but as far as I can see, this can happen in a restaurant: * server takes order * kitchen printer prints order * kitchen prepares item * server serves item * server deletes item from open ticket * cashier takes payment not including cost of item * ?? no record of item served exists in back office ?? Unless I am missing something, a dishonest server could make big tips by deleting dishes and particularly drinks from a customer's bill to give a "personal discount." Or is there a report I have missed that shows items which have gone to a kitchen printer and were later deleted from the ticket?

GoodOldMonkey Posted March 5 Author Posted March 5 The point is the customer gets *more* than what’s on the receipt, and the cashier is keeping the difference. The cashier, who is also the waiter or waitress, sends in tickets for five burgers, serves them, then deletes three — and tells the customer there’s a problem with the computer, so the bill is handwritten. Or serves five beers, telling the customer he has to pay for only four. The customer won’t mind the receipt is only for two, because he’s getting one free. I have seen this happen in New York as well as here in Thailand.
GoodOldMonkey Posted March 8 Author Posted March 8 So I guess the answer is no, there is no way of telling what tickets/items have been deleted. Maybe in a future version Loyverse can offer a complete audit trail for all data entered. Storage costs nowadays are minimal, and without an audit trail no financial system is really secure.
Georg Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Yes, if an item was deleted from the ticket before it was paid, there is no way to track these deleted items. I will send a feature suggestion to our team. Thank you very much for your feedback!
