Originally this POS was only for mobile devices. Some customers are using on their PC. To do this, you need to install an additional app called "BlueStacks". However, using this you won't be able to connect to a receipt printer or scanner.To connect them to the PC app, you can use RemixOS. But it can't be 100% that it will be compatible.

Loyverse POS works on Android and iOS device. But I know that some customers use this app via emulators such as Bluestacks (any hardware is not working on Bluestacks) or RemixOS for PC.

Yes You Can.

For me I have installed the Loyverse on Remix OS. my printer is Ethernet Printer.

The second option is to install Bluestake Emulator and install the app on it.

I am running and following my business in Saudi Arabia while I am doing my Phd in the Uk.

Loyverse POS works on both Android and iOS devices. Some of our users use our app on a PC through an emulator or alternative OS (i.e: Remix OS).

But please note that some of these emulators are not compatible with external hardware such as printers or scanners.

And we cannot guarantee that they are 100% compatible and we will not be able to help you in case you have problems with them.

Download Bluestacks Android emulator. Then install the Loyverse app.

Remix OS is also an option, but I had no luck with it.

Loyverse POS app created to run on Android and iOS devices.
That is why you have to install on your Windows PC Android emulator Nox App Player.
It can be downloaded from the official website at the link

bignox.com

System Requirements PC:

  • OS - Windows XPx86SP3 / Vista / 7/8 / 8.1 / 10;
  • Processor - Intel or AMD with support for virtualization technology;
  • RAM - minimum 512MB;
  • At least 1GB free hard disk space.

The emulator does not support direct connection of devices, so USB or Bluetooth printer or scanner will not work.

After installing the program, you will only need to install the Loyverse POS and use it as on the tablet. Install Loyverse POS app as usual, from the Play Store.

There is possible that pictures of items will not be show in the emulator. If you get this situation, you can set the color for your items.

After that, you need to configure the connection of necessary devices (Printers, Kitchen Display, Customer Display...)

Do not forget that the connection is possible only inside the same network. And if there are branches of the network, it may be necessary to create another network for pairing the necessary devices.

Yo instalé "BlueStacks" en mi PC para emular Androide, luego instalé la App y funciona muy bien. La impresora la conecté vía Ethernet y abre el cajón e imprime correctamente. Había buscado esta posibilidad desde hace tiempo. Ufff!!

The obvious question is why should you have to install another operating system on your PC just to run this software ? If you can run the Back Office on your PC then how hard is it to get the rest of the POS to work ? Those that work from home would not have to mess around with tablets or phones to do business. PC's still rule when it comes to ease and functionality over non-responsive tablets and pokey screened phones !!!

With BlueStacks, I could connect all my hardware. And loyverse is free, so they cannot make a Windows version. You could download BlueStacks or buy a USB or Ethernet hub for your tablet. There are also many business tablets and phones, like Zebra which have a built in scanner and run on Android. Also, a Chromebook like the Acer Chromebook R11 would be a good machine to run the Loyverse app with built in Android, and the Chrome Browser for back office and other tasks.

I installed "BlueStacks" on my PC to emulate Android, then I installed the [Loyverse] App and it worked very well. The [receipt] printer connected via Ethernet, and it opened the cash drawer and printed the receipt correctly. I was searching for that possibility until now. Ufff!!

Here is an extended answer about Loyverse POS in Nox player:

It states that it can't be connected directly to other devices, so usb or bluetooth printers wont work. But you can use it with Ethernet printers working on the same network as your PC.

I am using an Andy emulator.
It is built on pure Android 7.1.2; has no ads and is free.

System Requirements:

  • Dual core AMD or Intel CPU with Virutalization support
  • 3Gb of RAM; Andy uses less than 1Gb while running apps
  • At least 10Gb of free disk space
  • GPU with OpenGL 2.1 support
  • Windows 7 SP1 / Windows 8.1 / Ubuntu 14.04+ / OSX 10.8+

Check if your CPU supports Virtualization (aka. VT-x, Intel Virtual Technology, SVM...). In order to do so, you can refer to Intel ARK for Intel CPUs or CPU-World for AMD CPUs.

Once you're in the BIOS interface, look for Virtualization, VT-x, Intel Virtual Technology, SVM, AMD-v or anything that says 'Virtual' and enable it.

press one of the following keys repeatedly until the BIOS Window shows up; F2, F12, Del, ESC or F1

press one of the following keys repeatedly until the BIOS Window shows up; F2, F12, Del, ESC or F1

In order to avoid issues and security flaws, you need to make sure Windows is up to date. To do so, run Windows Update, Check for Updates, then check all available updates.

Download Andy here then run and install, it's that simple!

Andy Launcher allows you to create and manage multiple Andy machines. Think of it as having multiple tablets for different uses. There is no limit to how many machines you can create ex - cept the limit of space on your hard drive, of course.

To install an APK to Andy, simply double click it. If that does not work, place it in the shared folder and install it from within Andy.

To share files between your computer and Andy, you need to place them in the shared folder. The path for which is;

On Windows: %userprofile%\Andy\

On OSX: ~/Documents/Andy/

On Linux: ~/Andy/

You can then find your files in /storage/sdcard0/Shared/Andy/

Andy can use both your camera and microphone. You do not have to do anything special to get this working. However, if you have multiple cameras or multiple microphones attached to your system, you might need to select the one you would like to use. You can do so from Andy's system bar. Just click the appropriate button (Cam or Mic) and pick the camera and microphone you want to use in Andy.

You will need to use an android OS emulator. There are a couple of different options, Blue Stacks is one I have heard of. There are also a few videos on You Tube on how to do this.

I read all of the comment above and I think android emulator can't be an option for some business owner due the emulator obviously slowing down the computer. Especially the PC that don't have Virtualization support, the emulator won't work.

The android OS for PC like Remix OS or Phoneix OS also not as options, due the android OS for PC can't read the most of the USB printers and USB modem. the USB modem will be crucial for some users due Loyverse is cloud based and to connect the inventory and report on Back Office we should go online. and the traditional ways to connect to internet is only by internet LAN network if your PC didn't support wifi hardware built-in. while nowadays, the LAN network isn't really popular for small and micro businesses including mine.

Why Loyverse didn't develop a web-based version also that connect to our account, since the back office feature is provided on web-based and android & iOS apps version also?
The paid add-on will also follow since it connected to our account right? The other free POS that already implement this condition is "AYO SRC" apps from Indonesia (the cashier POS is available for android aps and web-based with the similar interface). But the downside of AYO SRC is they took so long time to register due they follow the Indonesian traditional standard that are not instant.

Hope Loyverse team can consider this condition

Brock, how exactly did you manage to connect all your hardware using Bluestacks? Until now I still have no idea how to connect my usb/bluetooth printer to Bluestacks. If you have any insights, kindly share. Thank you.

Hello everyone.

When I started my business, I bought a computer with a touch monitor. I did this because I was planning to use another program, but then I discovered Loyverse and I liked it much more.

But when I installed the program, I realized that it was not available for Windows, but only available for Android and iOS. I managed to practically adapt it for Windows using the Bluestacks program (the only one I tried because I don't know any others). But the problem I have is when adding the printer. I bought a USB, I configured it in the Windows printers section, but when I add it to Loyverse, it doesn't detect it.

So I wanted to know if anyone knows any solution to be able to use a USB printer in Loyverse adapted with Bluestacks. Or if I should buy some other Bluetooth or Ethernet printer.

Thank you very much everyone, I hope you can help me.
